I think we as artists should always be searching for inspiration and taking note of what excites us. Here are a few things that inspire me.

Joseph Mallord William Turner: Dawn in the Valleys of Devon
"It is not the mountain, the canyon, the ocean, or the sunset that make the inspiration. They simply unlock it, by lifting us out of the clockwork of everyday life."
- Ernst Bacon
"It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or to carve a statue, and so to make a few objects beautiful; but it is far more glorious to carve and paint the very atmosphere and medium through which we look, which morally we can do. To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts."
- Henry David Thoreau

Picture
Frederic Edwin Church : "Twilight in the Wilderness"
"Music is nothing other than nature mirrored in and reflected back by the human soul. It is sounding air, reaching out beyond the air; and it resides just as universally and fully in humanity itself as in all creation."
- Ferrucio Busoni
Picture
Frederic Edwin Church : "The Monastery of San Pedro (Our Lady of the Snows)"

"The morning wind spreads its fresh smell.
We must get up and take that in, that wind that lets us live.
Breathe before it’s gone.”
- Rumi
